Seven municipalities of the districts of Castelo Branco, Santarem, Coimbra and Leiria today have very high fire risk, according to information available on the website of the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) on the Internet.
According to IPMA, at very high risk of fire are the municipalities of Macau and Sardoal (Santarém), Vila de Rei (Castelo Branco), Pampilhosa da Serra, Arganil, Miranda do Corvo (Coimbra) and Castanheira de Pera (Leiria).
The IPMA also put on high fire risk several municipalities of the districts of Porto, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Santarém, Faro, Évora, Beja, Setúbal and Portalegre.
The risk of fire determined by IPMA includes five levels, which can vary between low and maximum.
The calculation is based on the values observed at 13:00 every day regarding the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the past 24 hours.
The IPMA provides for today on the continent sky slightly overcast or clean, appearing mainly cloudy until midmorning and particularly on the west coast.
During the afternoon, it is expected an increase of cloudiness in the northern regions inside and center with possibility of showers and thunderstorms.
The forecast also points to wind generally weak western quadrant blowing moderate on the coast south of Cape Carvoeiro and the highlands from the afternoon, fog or morning mist and small decrease of minimum temperature in northern and central coast.
In Lisbon temperatures will oscillate between 19 and 26 degrees Celsius in Porto between 16 and 25, in Bragança between 14:28 in Viseu from 14 to 27, in the Guard from 14 to 25 in Coimbra from 16:28, in Leiria between 18 and 26 in Castelo Branco between 16 and 30, in Portalegre between 15:28 in Santarém from 17 to 27 in Evora from 15 to 31, in Beja between 17:30 and Faro between 19:27 degrees
