Nothing as an industry man to lead a disruptive automotive technology project. At least this is Google’s idea of hiring John Krafcik, a veteran of the automotive segment in the US.
The US will be the leader of driverless cars project Google. For now the concept is still part of Google X division and reports directly to American technology, not being an independent arm of the new parent company Alphabet.
And John Krafcik already looks be in tune with his new job. “The autonomous driving cars can save thousands of lives, can give greater mobility to millions of people and can free us of several things we frustrating when driving,” he told Autonews.
And although the executive have experience in car manufacturing area, hiring should not be seen with the goal of Google proceed to the production of own-brand cars.
The Autonews stresses that John Krafcik, from her former position as an executive of the US Hyundai director and also its passage by Ford, is a person who can connect to Google to interested potential technology.
The latest vehicles without driver Google are already being tested in the US and forecasts of the technology point to a debut in the market in 2020.
