Windows 10 is for businesses. This was the message that Microsoft Portugal sent more than once during an event in which he presented the Technical Preview the new version of the operating system. And this happens for two reasons: Windows 10 mark a return to a more desktop environment, which will entice businesses; and because Microsoft has a great responsibility in the business market.
“We are in a version that marks the change from Windows, we will be serving a new wave of customers differently,” said the person responsible for Windows, Rita Santos division. One of the aspects that Microsoft wants to ensure Portugal, for example, is the easy transition of companies from Windows 7 – Windows XP has a residual share – to Windows 10.
“We have here an option to allow businesses to have a new Windows,” said the executive of the Portuguese subsidiary.
To promote it are two particular areas of the new operating system: the security issue, it is possible to define authentication methods in two steps and VPN for specific applications; and the question of the most practical updates, where an employee can go home and come back when the next day is a new operating system or a new package of work tools without losing access to your data.
“The format the computer and reinstall the operating system is something that we want to end … at least minimize,” explained the head of Windows for the business sector, Nino Torres.
The dedication for the corporate segment is so significant that companies may have their own store of applications and solutions in the Windows store, everything so there is a greater freedom and ability to respond to different situations.
But if Microsoft introduces Windows 10 as for companies, at what point is that “we” were?
Convergence is the buzzword
“This is not a logic of exclusion is a logical priority,” said Rita Santos of the theme. This is because Microsoft now has a great responsibility in the business sector to which we must respond immediately.
One of these examples is the responsibility of backward compatibility. Windows can evolve in many ways, but it is always necessary to inherit issues from previous systems for different solutions that do not get a moment’s obsolete.

Microsoft Windows 10 intends to focus more on consumers starting next year, when it will also begin to talk of convergence that craves for the ecosystem. And this is the key that the American technology will use to try to convince the majority of end-users.
