Schmeichel presses Van Gaal to stay with De Gea – The former goalkeeper of Manchester United and Sporting, Peter Schmeichel, left a warning to Louis Van Gaal not to let David de Gea abandon the ‘Red Devils’.

“Whatever it is you want in the new contract, if I were the coach, would do everything to keep you in the team,” he said, speaking to The Sun.

“I would be very upset if he left this summer because I’m sure you can make hundreds of games and win more titles than me at United,” added the Dane, who won 15 trophies by the emblem of Manchester.

Schmeichel wove still rave De Gea, stressing the importance of the Spanish guardian throughout the season:

“I saved the team in many games and was largely responsible for the Fourth United’s Premier League. In the last two seasons was by far the best player. “
