Astronaut records of solar storm effects on Earth – Earth Brazil

The Earth is being hit by a massive solar flare, which can disrupt the operation of the power grid and GPS at the same time it should produce beautiful auroras, according to The Independent.

A magnetic plasma blast hit the sun on Sunday, according to US officials. It is the largest solar storm since March – perhaps the most powerful since September 2005.

Solar condition produced auroras. The effects were seen and shared by US astronaut Scott Kelly, who is currently on the International Space Station.

The solar storm hit Earth on Monday and may last a day or a little more.
