Pluto is covered by a fog – Daily News – Lisbon

The US space agency NASA announced this morning new images of Pluto taken by the probe “New Horizons” showing that the dwarf planet is covered by a fog.

The probe, which passed close the unknown Pluto last week, a mission which started almost a decade ago, continues to send information to the NASA team.

“Our expectations were more than exceeded. With loose ice, an exotic substance in its surface, mountain ranges and wide mist, Pluto is showing a truly thrilling diversity of planetary geology, “he said in a statement John Grunsfeld, one of the associate directors of NASA.

The” New Horizons “captured images show a haze of 130 kilometers above the surface of Pluto, with two distinct layers, one of 80 kilometers and one of about 50 kilometers.
