Earthquake felt in the Algarve – TVI24

The earthquake with magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale recorded today near Monchique, Faro district did not cause personal injury or property damage, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to IPMA, the earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale was recorded by seismic stations network of the continent to 5:35 and had its epicenter about four kilometers northeast of Monchique, Faro district.

In a statement, the IPMA said that the earthquake did not cause personal injury or property damage and was felt with maximum intensity IV in the range of modified Mercalli in Monchique region.

The IPMA also said that about 06:00, there were still no reports that the earthquake had been felt.

It is recalled that last weekend, on Saturday, was also felt an low-intensity earthquake in the region of Cascais, Sintra and Oeiras. The magnitude magnitude was 3.2.
