Fire: Fire in Alqueva area with 90% of the area in resolution – Digital Journal

The fire in the Alqueva zone that flared on Monday afternoon had today at 06:45 «90% of the area in resolution,” he told Lusa source of District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Évora.

“Overnight we made an investment of quite muscular media, with the enormous commitment of all stakeholders, ensuring that in the morning the fire was roughly about 90% of the area resolution,” said Jose soldier, deputy commander of CDOS of Évora.

The fire sparked by 15:17 on Monday and came to have three active fronts, consuming bush areas, eucalyptus, assembled and pasture in Serra do Meio, parish Alqueva in the Portel municipality, Évora district.

José soldier explained that some hot spots were at 06:45 to be solved and the means on the ground were sufficient, with operations taking place favorably.

“At this time [around 07:00] fire has a small active front, but all means are beside her,” he added, referring staying in the 232 operating location supported by 68 vehicles.

José Soldado also stressed that during the fire fighting “was no accident” and that the fire “did not put homes at risk,” estimating its full resolution during the morning.
