What if you could lend your eyes? – Fiber

An app was created with the mission of helping the blind population. It’s called Be My Eyes and allows volunteers to lend his vision to blind people, through real-time video calls.

The application without profit and created by the Danish Hans Jørgen Wiberg, allows a blind for assistance for some tasks of day-to-day from notice if the food expiration date has expired until the identification of items from a shelf.

The volunteer, selected at random, will receive a notification with the application and the video call is initiated, and can then help the blind person and answer your questions.

If the volunteer can not meet the call is automatically forwarded to someone else that is available.

For now, the application is exclusive to iOS, but has produced results, accounting for more than 62,000 subscribers and nearly 10 thousand beneficiaries with the service.
