GNR identified in the last Thursday and Friday, 8 and 9 January, two dozen olives theft suspects in olive groves in the districts of Beja and Moura.
Guard source added to the “CA” that the suspects were identified in the operation “Agrisegur”, in the case of 15 Romanian residents in Spain and five Portuguese, for a total of 12 men and eight women aged between 14 and 40 years.
Following the planned activities, in which also participated in the Territorial military post of Évora, the GNR seized nearly 2.5 tons of olive, and the facts were communicated to the courts of Beja and Moura.
The GNR continues to develop research efforts related to this type of criminal offense, said the same source, revealing that during the operation “Agrisegur” seized “so far” a total of 14.5 tons of olive, having been made four arrests and identified 39 theft suspects.
