Adidas joins the segment of smart watches with miCoach ... - IOnline

Unlike proposals like the Samsung Galaxy Gear or Pebble Smartwatch, the Adidas miCoach Smart Run is designed to help its users for sporting

This device allows you to monitor the heart rate of their users, supports mp3 and even offers a virtual coach to motivate more serious runners. In addition also includes GPS and accelerometer sensor to monitor speed, distance traveled and even helping to plan new routes.

The interface is simple and it is all dedicated to exercise. By a code of four colors, for example, the Adidas miCoach Smart Run can alert users (via sound or vibration) for when they are running at too high a speed, recommending a slowdown in the pace.

The technical specifications of this smart watch include a 1.5-inch screen with low resolution and a battery life of up to four hours, potentially extended to eight hours depending on the settings that are active.

“The sound and visual guidance for interval workouts are one step ahead of any other watch available. Another aspect that is often overlooked by runners is how important are the strength exercises and flexibility in performance gain and decreasing injury. Having this guidance on the clock is truly innovative, “says Terrence Mahon, responsible for resistance training in the Athletics Federation of UK.

miCoach Smart Run will reach the U.S. market as early as November, which will be available for $ 399. For now there is still no information on its availability in other markets.
