Microsoft will “turn off” the Zune music service in November – SAPO Tek

In the era of subscription music services, Microsoft decided to put an end to the Zune. On November 15 the digital music platform is disconnected from time and ends when one of the least successful projects of the US company.

The Zune came in 2006 to trying to rival not only with the popularity of iPod, as well as the iTunes music service from Apple. And fail in the attempt.

In 2011 the Zune line of MP3 players would be discontinued and now Microsoft puts an end to the story deck. Who is still Zune subscriber will carry over directly to the latest technological service, Groove.

Microsoft promises to compensate users who have already spent money on annual subscriptions and that will not come at all.

Because of this decision the Zune readers who were streaming via music playback capability will become in simple MP3 players.
