Konami may abandon the production of AAA games – Eurogamer.pt

According to several reports Konami will cease production of AAA games except for his series of Pro Evolution Soccer football games.

After reports that indicate the output Julien Merceron, the director of the Fox Engine, new reports from the same sources indicate that the Japanese company will no longer invest more in super productions.

The only exception is the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Ie there will be no new Metal Gear or Silent Hill, although Konami have said a few weeks ago that continue to invest in these series.

Our British colleagues from Eurogamer corroborate these reports, adding that output Merceron will have some too connection with this company’s decision.

This decision did not affect the release of Metal Gear Online which is scheduled for October 6.

It was in May that Hideki Hayakawa , President of Konami, had said that the company would not focus only on the development of mobile games. Hayakawa had said that the company would continue to invest in console games, arcade and card for each of their IPs.
