Google debuted new features in Maps application for Android. The mode “Wi-Fi only” was already being tested by some users and is now available to the entire community. With this mode enabled, Maps works only if the unit is connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you are surfing with mobile data, only able to see the maps you have downloaded for offline mode, explains the VentureBeat . The main change with this innovation is that users do not “spend” mobile data too much, and moreover, they are not frustrated by not being able to use Maps in regions with little cellular network.
