RamsomWare attacks Apple products – iOnline

For the first time there is a Ramsomware designed for Apple products. Who was reported to Reuters, realizing that the curse that has plagued the technology, commonly known as PCs changed. If until recently the owners of Apple products boasted of being immune to this problem, it seems that (unfortunately) everything changed.

During this weekend were perpetrated by hackers for the first time, ransomware attacks only for the Macintosh devices. The process consists of using an adulterated copy of Transmission, a common BitTorrent client but this time infected with the ‘fault’ (it is believed) KeRanger.

At the Transmissionbt.com page, the brand makes its appeal to users who use the 2.90 version, which can be infected with malware, to undertake the fast update to version 2.91. The Transmisson committed itself to the obvious reaction, presenting a new version (on Sunday) that automatically removes Ransomware from affected computers, the only solution.

On the other hand Apple, as expected, also reacted and revoked the digital certificate to prevent malicious software was installed.

If you are an Apple owner make sure that you are not infected. You can open the Natixa tool OSX system, the ‘Activity Monitor’ and check the ‘kernel_service’ case is pending. If so, double-click it, choose ‘doors and open files’ and look for a file type ‘/ Users // Library / kernel_service’. If you find have bad news. This is the main process KeRanger, the new malware now detecado for OSX. It is suggested to force the process of stop: End – & gt; Force End. And update!
