Wikipedia will have a search engine by voice – PCGuia

A team of scientists from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, is working with those responsible for Wikipedia in developing a search engine voice that will expand the accessibility of this online encyclopedia to those with visual impairments. The team of Wikipedia estimates that about 125 million people will be able to benefit from this new service.

The platform will be optimized for Wikipedia but will be able to be used freely by any website that uses the solution MediaWiki software. By 2017, the new service will support the Swedish, English and Arabic languages.

Later, the new service will be able to be used in other languages ​​that are currently supported by Wikipedia.
