Intel prepares virtual reality glasses based on RealSense says WSJ – Teciber

Intel is adapting its camera depth RealSense in an augmented reality headset could license to other according to The manufacturers Wall Street Journal.

As the WSJ reports, Intel has teamed up with a company called IonVR to announce that it was working on such a device might work with different operating systems, including Android and iOS. Of course, the gadget had a RealSense front camera.

The camera RealSense depth, is a work in progress for several years, shown as a viable technology product in January 2014 at CES.

Since then, RealSense seems to have weakened and was eclipsed by the Kinect, Microsoft. An augmented reality product could help bring Intel’s name back in the spotlight
