Boeing creates system to kill 99.99% of germs in aircraft bathrooms – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

The Boeing aircraft bathrooms are going to be cleaner. The US aircraft manufacturer has developed a system that works with ultraviolet light that kills almost all the germs and makes the bathrooms automatically clean up when you exit.

The planemaker announced on Thursday, March 3, in its official page, which joined its engineers and creative to develop this care system and has registered the patent for the concept.

Boeing explains that this system ultraviolet, which is still only a prototype, will act in conjunction with other tools, such as taps and soap dispensers that operate without being necessary to touch. This “future sink can make more hygienic and less worrying experience,” the site says Boeing.

The bathroom will use a type of ultraviolet light that does not affect human skin, just killing bacteria and germs that are in the sink surface.

the UV lights clean the lavatory during the flight when the door is closed and the cabin is unoccupied, to prevent passengers from being exposed as a precaution. The toilet system also automatically raises and lowers the toilet seat so that all surfaces are exposed to light. The cycle lasts for less than three seconds.
