Vodafone today announced that it has become the ‘first TV operator in Portugal’ to provide a solution of voice commands for a service cable television. This new feature is an update of the app Vodafone Voice Tv Net, which initially only available for Android.
Voice commands are being increasingly used in smartphones and now comes the turn of a remote control app for resorting to this form of interactivity. According to Vodafone, this solution lets ‘say the name or number of the channel you want to view and control any function of the usual TV remote:’ connect ‘the TV box,’ write ‘,’ pause ‘,’ TV guide ‘,’ watch recordings ”, among others.
This
voice functionality can also be used to search for movies on video store Vodafone House: the users can say the name of the movie or the actor you want to find.
