Most Chinese advocates the prohibition of ‘Festival of dog meat’, which takes place every year in Yulin, southern China.
A poll revealed today by the “Global Times” indicates that 51 percent of the Chinese are against the festival, while 49 percent maintain that it should continue to be held, because “the life of animals should be respected, but also the traditions.”
The concerned festival, which takes place June 21, this year forced the slaughter of 10,000 dogs, which are then served with lychees and drizzled with “bai ju” (white rum).
