The next two games of Remedy will not be published by Microsoft – IGN Portugal

The creator of Max Payne and Quantum Break, Remedy, is currently working on two separate AAA games, none of which will be the much rumored Alan Wake 2.

in an interview with Polygon, the Finnish producer has defined the two projects. The first is a completely new IP, a AAA game that is being done with a partner who is not Microsoft.

The second is also a AAA title (no mention whether it is a new IP or not), but it is currently in a design phase, without any plans for publication. None of the games will be shown at E3 or Gamescom this year.

For Alan Wake 2, the team has held “informal talks about a future” for the franchise, but have not specified more plans in addition to these.

Remedy had previously said it was “considering” a sequel to Alan Wake, after releasing his last game, Quantum Break.

for the first time, producer has two internal development teams, allowing them to work on both projects at the same time. “We will not take five years to launch a game,” said business director of Remedy, Johannes Paloheimo. “It’s been a long process, try to move to a studio with two teams, but we can now make more games faster, and diversify financial and creative terms.”

The Remedy is known for its singleplayer games focusing on the narrative, something that, according to the head of communications, Thomas Puha, will not fade in the next two projects: “. we will not abandon the story and narrative we want to focus on what we are good, and for which we are known.”

However, do not put aside a surprising move to new titles: “Although they are clearly games of Remedy with a DNA Remedy for some can be a good surprise [...] we are also trying to break the gender and reach new audiences, especially with one of the new games. “
