TeK Storefront: The 10 social networks have changed the (our) world – SAPO Tek

It was in 2010 that the site Mashable officially decreed the date of June 30 as the World Day of Social Networks and the annual commemoration “caught” immediately, with events and different ways to mark the day to happen all over . the world since then

And for good reason: although there are several social networks, some of them “own” some countries only – as is the Weibo case in Japan, for example – “giants” like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram have thunderous numbers with regard to daily use and influence (the positive and the negative …) the lives of millions of people worldwide. Look up for Facebook, with 1.65 billion active users every month, to 350,000 tweets sent every minute or 30 billion photos already published today by Instagram.

it is true that arise issues of privacy and security, as well as different views about the phenomenon: one can not leave the social networks one minute, so to speak; others find that these are a waste of time. Anyway, the future predicts that social networks continue to set the pace of everything that is being done on the Internet and not only, because it is them who are virtually all users of the Internet today and it is in them that most companies have effective methods to reach your potential customers.

If doubts exist about how social networks shape the lives of millions of people, just the other prism, pointing attention to the volume some global business involving the companies that hold these platforms. A good example is the recently announced acquisition of LinkedIn by Microsoft, involving 26.2 billion dollars.

Business aside, TeK leaves out the date and brings you a summary of 10 social networks that they have contributed to changing the way we use the internet and interact online (some had to be left out …). And remember that even the Pope Francis has long since “become” the wonders of social networks …
