According to official data , in December last year there were 429 children in adoptability status to 1,805 applicants on the waiting list, that is, more than four times more applicants than children.

A relationship that is reversed when talking about health issues, since for 89 children with severe problems there are six candidates on the waiting list and to 62 disabled children five people available to adopt.

In other words, for each candidate available to adopt a child with serious health problems, there are 15 children that can be adopted. Already with regard to children with disabilities, the ratio is a candidate for every 12 children.

With regard to the age of minors, Government data show that More than half of children in situation of adoptability are aged between seven and 12 years, with 109 to be between seven and nine and the other 108 are between 10 and 12 years, which adds up to 217 children.
