The confirmation was made by the very CEO of GoPro, the company’s North American digital cameras that has among its main customers sportsmen and outdoor activities enthusiasts. GoPro will enter the world of drones and virtual reality, with all systems created with their cameras.

The announcement was made by Nick Woodman in CodeConference, conference Media and technology Recode, California, held on Wednesday. Among the new GoPro, Woodman announced the Six-Spherical Camera Array, an accessory that can be placed on a tripod and is shaped like a cube where each side has a Hero4 camera brand. The idea is to take pictures and capture high-resolution video images intended to virtual reality.

After taking pictures, comes into play Kolor, an software virtual reality acquired by GoPro last month. The Kolor joins all images captured by six cameras and creates a single spherical image. The result can then be viewed in virtual reality glasses such as those created by Oculus, a company acquired by Facebook last year by Google or Microsoft.

What is created by the Six-Spherical Camera Array, published then with the Kolor, can still be seen in smartphone or desktop via the mobile application of Kolor or YouTube version 360. The user who has the pictures on the smartphone can scroll in any direction, as if physically look in different directions. In the case of desktop , you use the cursor to view different perspectives.

Nick Woodman has not announced the price the system will have when coming to market, what should happen to the end of the year.

Another novelty GoPro is a drone , whose price and details of operation are, for now, kept secret by Woodman, who said only that the Recode expected to be launched in the first half of 2016.

The market drones is already among the interests of the GoPro for some time, with the California company trying to create your own hardware in this area. For now, the brand will continue to work with other manufacturers of these devices to integrate its technology.
