IPMA: Nine municipalities of the continent on high fire risk – Digital Journal

 
 Nine municipalities in the center of the continent today have maximum risk of fire, according to information available on the website of the Sea Portuguese Institute and the Atmosphere (IPMA) on the Internet.
 
 

The municipalities of Gois and Pampilhosa da Serra district of Coimbra, Pedrogão Grande and Castanheira de Pera (Leiria), Vila de Rei, Oleiros and Sertã (Castelo Branco), Macau and Sardoal (Santarém) show today maximum risk of fire.

The IPMA put also at very high risk of fire six municipalities in the district of Faro, and other 43 districts north to south, and the remaining map of Portugal painted orange continental, color reveals that the municipalities are at high risk of fire.

The risk of fire determined by IPMA includes five levels, ranging from small and maximum.

The calculation is based the values ​​observed at 13:00 each day, with regard to air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the past 24 hours.

The National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC) recorded in Wednesday 92 fires, which were fought by 1,225 operating with the support of 356 vehicles.

The IPMA provides for today on the continent slightly cloudy sky and clean, with periods of increased cloudiness from the afternoon, especially within the central and southern regions, where there is possibility of thunderstorm accompanied by showers.

But the wind tends to blow generally poor East quadrant blowing moderate southeasterly on the south coast of the Algarve until midafternoon, and northwest on the west coast from the afternoon.

In the highlands of the north and center, the wind will blow moderate to strong northeasterly until the early morning.

The IPMA also provides a small rise in temperature in the North inner and center.

In Lisbon, temperatures will range between 20 and 31 degrees Celsius in Porto between 18 and 29, in Bragança between 10 and 29, in Viseu between 15 and 30, in the Guard from 11 to 27 in Coimbra between 16 and 33 in Leiria between 12 and 33, in Castelo Branco between 18:34 and 14:34 between Évora.

Beja will be the hottest city with forecasts of 36 degrees celsius, followed by Évora with 35 while in the south of the country the maximum will reach 28 in Faro.
