Tax authorities ordered 2.3 million foreclosures this year – TVI24

The number of orders of garnishment issued by the Tax and Customs Authority ascended in the first seven months of this year, to 2.3 million. This value exceeds the total notifications issued during the past year.

According to data provided to ‘the public’ by the Ministry of Finance, January-July, 2,289,000 attachment orders were issued, when the whole of 2013 were determined 2070315.

The ministry attributes the increase to combat fraud and the underground economy. The Workers Union of Taxation says this is not the only reason to boost enforcement, saying that “much attachable execution factor is due to the crisis.
