PSP arrested 102 people in 24-hour operation – iOnline

The PSP arrested 102 people, mostly by driving with excess alcohol, and seized six guns and 93 doses of drug during a 24-hour operation carried out at the weekend, said today that security force.

The PSP held, between 07:00 on Saturday and 07:00 on Sunday, the third quarterly operation action that lasted 24 hours and performed within the operational activity expected this year.

In a statement released today, the PSP says that 102 people, of whom 60 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, 19 for lack of qualification to conduct six for assault on police and four for drug trafficking .

In 24 hours, the Public Security Police also seized six guns and 93 doses of drug, fined 37 establishments (13 per default schedule) and identified 531 people.

During operation were also inspected 7,666 vehicles and 208 drivers detected with rate exceeding 0.5 grams per liter in the blood and 609 motorists speeding alcohol, and recorded 31 offenses for lack of inspection periodic, 14 by 13 mobile use and lack of belt.

In a statement, the PSP says that these quarterly operations aim to keep the feeling of safety and reduce crime in the area of ​​responsibility of the Police.

The PSP also said that provisional data for the first half of the year point to a drop in crime of around four percent from 2013 and the commands of Lisbon, Porto and Faro Setúbal show declines between 2 , 6% and 4.7%.

The PSP also indicates that over the next few days, will keep “a high visibility enhancement considering the beginning of the school year.”
