The Government wants to introduce financial literacy in the curriculum of primary and secondary schools from next academic year.

This is one of the measures contained in the preliminary draft of the Major Planning Options (GOP ) for 2015, sent yesterday to the social partners and the Economic Daily had access. However, the document does not specify whether it is a new discipline created for students or if this item will be included in the curriculum of some existing discipline. Thus, the Government argues, it is possible to “raise awareness of children and adolescents for consumer rights as well as the importance of responsible consumption and sustainable school environment,” reads the document.
