José Cid in the Coliseum – Swab

José Cid will present his historic album, “After 10,000 years Between Venus and Mars”, on 15 November, the Coliseum in Lisbon. The news was confirmed by the promoter of the show, in a statement.

The concert features appearances by Mike Sergeant, Ramon Galarza and Zé Nabo, guitarist, drummer and bassist respectively, of the original album. Edited by Orpheus in 1978, “After 10,000 years Between Venus and Mars” is an album of progressive rock, rock opera and also one of the rare space rock albums in Portugal. The disc had already been touched in Aula Magna in Lisbon in April this year.

Based on science fiction, registration refers to the self-destruction of humanity and the return of a man and a woman to repopulate the Earth 10,000 years later. Musically, this promises to be a concert of symphonic space rock dominated by mellotron, synth strings and others, with support of guitars, bass and drums. In concert, José Cid will also play some songs from his upcoming album of symphonic rock, “Voices from Beyond”.

It is recalled that the American magazine Billboard included “After 10,000 years Between Venus and Mars “in the list of 100 best albums of progressive rock in the world.

Tickets are on sale now and are priced between 20 and 30 euros.
