Traditional celebration of the patron saint of Serrita reaches its 95th edition – Globo.com

From the Saturday (28) the residents of the municipality of Serrita in the backwoods of Pernambuco, will participate in one of the traditional liturgical feasts of the region, the Feast of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the patron saint of the city. The local parish held celebrations in honor of Santa since 1920. The celebration will take place until December 8 and should include the participation of the faithful of 43 neighboring communities.

The theme of this edition of the festivities is ” Mary Immaculate Mother, help us to continue serving the Church with faith, promoting peace “. The opening on the 28th, will be early in the morning at 5 am with a festive dawn. Following will be praying the office, at 6pm. In the evening, a motorcade will be organized, leaving the Nursery Nubia, in Cohab Manoel Cecílio toward the church located in the city center. 19h will be hoisted the flag and held Mass.

From November 29 to December 7 happens the novena of the Saint, always with the office at 6 am, and a Mass at 19h. Every day, religious authorities in neighboring parishes will be invited to celebrate Masses, including the Bishop of Willow, Archbishop Magnus Henrique Lopes. Also willow, of Moreilândia and Cedar, the faithful are expected to attend the celebrations.

On Tuesday (8), the Day of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the celebrations begin with the dawn and craft from 5 am. In the afternoon the procession takes place at 16h. Along the way, the faithful are leaving the Rua Dom José Lopes and follow the street Major Antonio Rufino, Francis Xavier, Avenue Colonel Chico Romao, Maria Maia Sampaio, Hidelberto Sampaio and return to Rua Presidente Costa e Silva Where is the church when will held the closing Mass.
