Bluetooth is gaining muscle to cope with the Internet of Things – SAPO Tek

The Bluetooth is constantly evolving and the Special Interest Group (SIG), the entity responsible for the development and establishment of technology, have already set the priorities for next year. The objective involves making Bluetooth the central elements of the Internet of Things (IoT).

At a time when the market IoT promises to loom up over the next decade, wireless communications will gain an even more crucial relief to that level.

Also new is support for multiple communications by a Bluetooth device. So far the technology only allowed a ‘core’ was connected to seven different devices.

Smart homes, industrial automation, geolocation services and smart cities infrastructure are the areas in which Bluetooth remodeling to have more impact.

“Bluetooth has been adopted by a large number of developers and manufacturers as first choice for IoT solutions. The new features that we will soon launch will solidify Bluetooth as the backbone of IoT technology, “said Executive Director of GIS, Mark Powell, quoted by Computer Weekly.
