Bing Maps now show traffic cameras in 11 countries – PowerUser

Microsoft has released on Tuesday last in 11 countries, a new update to its Maps service on Bing allows you to view traffic in real time, from a few cameras installed on roads throughout the world.

The functionality comes in an attempt to not only improve their services and attract new users, how to compete with maps Google and Apple.

The new feature allows you to consult about 35,000 cameras in direct, allowing you to view real-time traffic and congestion of the roads, so utilizadors can decide on the best route to take .

To use it simply click on the “Traffic” section of Bing Maps.

When you enable the functionality of the roads selected zone are painted different colors, indicating traffic levels.

The colors range from red to green as the intensity and zooming, you can click on the various displayed cameras and consult in direct the images shown.

The application also allows store cameras recently viewed a list, making it easy to search on a day-to-day.

So, by clicking on the “Chambers recently seen”, the user can easily find the most used roads in recent days and calculate alternative routes to the route you want to do.

Who does not intend to see images from the camera can disable the feature by viewing only the color scheme that indicates which the most congested roads.

The update is available for 11 countries, but Portugal is not part of the list.

Although Microsoft still has not given any news in this regard, it is expected that it will be contemplated one of the next updates.
