As you did with the Chromebook Pixel and Pixel C, there are now indications that Google may be to equate not only manufacture their own smartphones, but also design their own processor

. Of course, Google does not have capable factories manufacture and assemble devices, so the manufacture of any device always eventually be attributed to any company that already fabricate such devices for competition. Still, the practice would be a deep cut to the current philosophy of Google to ally with OEMs who design the devices under their guidance and supervision. The key difference would be that partner, Google would competitor brands that currently has partnerships to manufacture the Nexus

. It is a step that would benefit to Google: the open nature of Android means that all OEM are free to bypass Google services and install their own, which on the one hand opens to Google a big market also takes off a big slice of control over their own OS. On the contrary, create their own line of smartphones allow the creation of fully compromised devices with Google. The question is whether creating their own smartphones would bring more advantages than existing partnerships

. On the other hand, Microsoft may indicate to Google how manufacturers can suddenly feel- was hit in the heart of your business, when software companies start to manufacture its own complete devices, a sense that the Chromebook Pixel is no stranger

. So, what is known, Google has not yet decided if will choose autonomously design and manufacture the Nexus future. But the possibility seems to be on the table.
