Computer [Reuters] Amazon will process 1,114 people for making false recommendations on the site. The legal action is already underway and the company claims that have to be consequences, since the service is to lose reputation with these comments “false, misleading and inauthentic.”

According to Amazon, these recommendations were purchased by sellers, who wished to advertise their products and attract more customers.

The investigation of the Amazon revealed that many of these recommendations set out the Fiverr.com site where many users were available to make positive comments, in return for money. According to the BBC, the service of false recommendations cost only 4 euros a comment or rating.

“Despite representing a small number, these reviews can significantly undermine the trust that consumers and most of the vendors lay in the Amazon,” explained the company , on Friday, when the lawsuit was formalized.

Amazon discovered the system, pretending to be a seller on the site, asking for five-star ratings and comments. According to the company, many users used different accounts to go unnoticed.

This case arises out of another in April, when the company sued four websites that offered a service of false recommendations.
