Facebook buys WhatsApp for EUR 11.6 billion - Daily News - Lisbon

Facebook today, Wednesday announced that purchased the instant messaging application WhatsApp for 16 billion (EUR 11 650 million), that What is the most important acquisition of the world’s largest social network, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.

Investors did not seem very excited about this announcement with the Facebook stock on the New York Stock Exchange falling by 4.50% to $ 65, about 22:30 (Lisbon time).
