Discovery robot reduces hope of finding life on Mars - The Ball

The robot Curiosity, NASA made a discovery that is being seen as a setback in the possibility of finding life on Mars.

because methane levels are found, which are six times smaller than originally anticipated. Scientists had hoped, as revealed by a study dated 2003, finding large amounts of methane in the Martian atmosphere. Ten years ago a study saying that Mars had a cloud with 19 000 tons of methane.

But the robot Curiosity, which is on Mars, detected only a small amount of methane, thus putting aside the hypothesis expected that high levels of methane could be being produced by agencies such as fossil organic or living microbes.
