Apple puts an end to the reign of Coca-Cola - Business Journal - Portugal

iPhone maker took the standings § à £ o Coca-Cola à º occupied during the last 10 years and became the most valuable brand in the world. Google rose to second place and relegated the soda maker for third place.

Apple ascended to the position of most valuable brand in the world in the latest study by Interbrand, after seeing its value rise by 28% to 98,316 million (72,694 million dollars).

American manufacturer dethroned as well as Coca-Cola, which led the ranking for the last 13 years but went directly to the third position in 2013. Google, which runs the most popular search engine in the world, saw the value of your brand shooting 34% from last year to 93,291 million dollars, while Coca-Cola grew by 2% and was 79 213 million.

list of most valuable brands is dominated by companies from the United States of America. The first brand ranking that does not belong to the world’s largest economy is South Korea’s Samsung, which occupies the eighth place with a value of 39.6 billion.

Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota ranks 10. place and most valuable brand in Europe is the Mercedes-Benz (11. place – 31 900 million), followed by BMW at 12 . place.

French Louis Vuitton also includes the index in 17. third position, being the most valuable company in France. Sweden’s H & M (21. Third position) is the most valuable and, in Spain, is Zara (36. Third position).
