Wind and sea waves put 14 districts under yellow warning – TVI24

Fourteen districts of the continent and the archipelago of Madeira are under yellow warning due to strong wind forecast and wave propagation, informed the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja and Faro are under yellow warning due to strong wind forecast, with gusts of around 70 kilometers / hour, with 90 km / hour in the highlands between 12:00 on Monday and 23:59 on Tuesday.

These ten districts are also under yellow warning between 15:00 and 09:00 today Wednesday due to the forecast of strong sea waves, with northwest waves of 4-5 meters.

In addition to these ten districts, four (Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda and Castelo Branco) are under yellow warning due to strong wind forecast with gusts of around 90 km / hour in the highlands between 18 : 00 today and 15:00 on Tuesday.

Also the archipelago of Madeira is under yellow warning due to the forecast of sea waves, with north waves of 4-5 meters and strong winds with gusts of around 70 km / hour.

The IPMA provides for Monday on the continent cloudy periods , showers , especially from mid-morning and regions the interior north and center, which will be Snow above 1000/1200 meters down to 800/1000 meters during the afternoon and favorable conditions for the occurrence of lightning in especially in northern and central interior.

The forecast IPMA still points to weak to moderate wind from the north quadrant, becoming moderate to strong with gusts as high as 80 km / hour in the western coastal belt from the late morning and order 90 km / hour in the highlands from the late afternoon and drop in temperature, especially in the northern and central regions.

In Lisbon the temperature will vary between 9 and 15 degrees Celsius in Porto between 7 and 15, in Vila Real between 2 and 11, in Bragança between 0 and 9, Viseu between 3 and 10, Castelo Branco between 6 and 16, from 5 to 17 Evora, Beja between 8 and 17, between 10 and 18 Faro and Funchal between 13 and 18
