Facebook strengthens against terrorism policy, hatred and nudity – TVI24

Facebook announced on Monday that it will not allow the social network to be used to promote terrorism or hate speech. The new rules are part of an update to the community norms.

The new document makes clear that Facebook will not allow the presence of groups that advocate “terrorist activity, organized crime and the promotion of hatred.” Support the leaders or the criminal organizations activities are therefore to be attitudes not be tolerated.

With the new update, Facebook will delete images that are shared by “sadistic pleasure or to celebrate violence.”

The nakedness will also be banned, except for breastfeeding pictures, art or discussions of clinical conditions.

The new rules also require users to use their real name on social networking account.

The heads of Facebook ensure that the new rules “are designed to create an environment where people feel motivated to treat others with equality and respect.”

The Mark Zuckerberg’s company agrees to remove content, disable accounts and to cooperate with the authorities, when “there is a risk of physical harm or clear threats to public safety.”

Officials point out that, although the social network always have banned the hate speech, the new updates reinforce the removal of abusive language community.

The new measures come at a time when social networks are increasingly linked to extremism and violence.
