Since the launch of Google+, a little over two years, Google has made it clear that social service is the brainchild of the search giant. Over time, it was possible to see several integrations between G+ and various products and services such as Gmail, Blogger, YouTube and Google Play.
In some cases, as in the YouTube comments and reviews of the shop of Android apps, the company decided it would be mandatory to have a profile on social service to use full or partial service. In others, such as Gmail, users with a profile on G+ just enjoyed some additional features, but can usually still use the email service without any problem. But that may be about to change.
Google started showing, Gmail users who do not have a Google+ profile, an option for them to create a profile on social services to have access to “ new Gmail features “. By completing the data and accept the terms, users also agree to migrate Picasa web option for Google+ Photos.
Althoughseem just another attempt to make Google users to create profiles, even without any interest in using Google+, the “ now not ” on the screen tells me a lot. I hope to be completely wrong, but unfortunately, I believe that in a not too distant future, more and more Google services may only be used by users who have a profile on the social services of the company. I just hope that Gmail is not one of them.
Do not be evil, Google
