Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first compatible with VR Daydream – AndroidGeek

There have been gradually more and more information on the Samsung Galaxy S8, which has the code name Project Dream . The unit will be the company’s first to feature 4K screen. Now appear indications that Samsung plans to use the same Lightfield panel with Bio Blue technology which already would achieve the recommended specifications for VR technology.

One of the focal points of a good virtual reality experience it is a high density of pixels on the screen to ensure that the eyes can not capture every point of the image. This new screen Samsung has 5.5 inches, resulting in 806 pixels per inch. Far above the 534 pixels per inch Galaxy S7 Edge.

Clay Bayvor, responsible for Google’s Virtual Reality industry said that users interested in having a capable smartphone to support the specifications of Daydream VR, only the may purchase at the end of the year. This leads us to believe that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may be one of the first to meet Google’s requirements in this area.

To be able to run the Daydream VR Google requires that the device has motion sensors highly sensitive, powerful and well calibrated, since these are one of the main reasons for a high quality experience.

Another of the limitations that exist in the current versions of VR equipment (such as Gear VR Samsung) are the sickness that affect most users, even leading to the applications and content are classified on a scale of “Comfortable for a few” to “Comfortable for many” so that this constraint does not occur it is necessary that the resolution is high enough and the refresh rate allows the movement to be smooth and fluid, and still keep the content as clear as possible.

If the Galaxy S8 really is the first smartphone from Samsung with full support for Daydream VR Google, that would help explain the chosen name: Project Dream. C

Laro, to win the Daydream VR certification Google, the Galaxy S8 will need to have several built-in sensors to get the most out of virtual reality technology.

The Samsung seems to follow a standard when it comes to the resolution of its most successful phones, and generally launches an upgrade every two releases: VGA for Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 HD for Galaxy S3, Full HD for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, and Quad HD for Galaxy S6 and S7 Galaxy. With a 4K panel now in production, a new leap seems very likely.

Virtual reality has provided phone makers an excuse to push the resolution of the phone further to above. While 4K is certainly overkill for normal use, it is essential to improve the user experience on devices like the Gear VR.
