Russian cargo ship Progress MS-03 attaches successfully to the ISS – Terra Brazil

The cargo ship Progress MS-03 docked successfully this Tuesday to the International Space Station (ISS), according to the Space Flight Control Center (PPA) of Russia.

The Progress MS-03 led to the orbital platform more than 2.4 tons of cargo, including fuel, food, oxygen, scientific equipment and utensils necessary for the operation of the ISS.

The engagement, which took place in automatic mode, occurred at 3:22 a.m. (Moscow time) and was supervised from the ground by the PPA and the ISS by Russian astronaut Aleksei Ovchinin and Anatoli Ivanishin two of the six deck crew.

The cargo ship, which was launched last Sunday from the base of Baikonur (Kazakhstan), is the third of the MS series, a new modification of Progress designed by Russian consortium Energuia .

The MS series is equipped with additional protection from micrometeorites and space debris, and its coupling system has electrical reservation engines.

In addition, the new model is equipped Progress of new control systems and rendezvous and docking.
