Surveillance cameras “neighbor” bore Portuguese and motivate complaints to the CNPD – SAPO Tek

The volume of complaints is considerable and has increased and the reasons are varied, but there are situations that lead the Portuguese to claim more from the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) when they find that their personal security or privacy information are threatened.

The on-site work in different ways, from the GPS to control the use of ICT, through video surveillance and the biometrics are among the set of most significant reasons as well as misuse or without consent of personal data.

The electronic junk mail, aka spam, also continues to be portrayed, but is about “video surveillance neighbor” the fastest growing number of complaints that reach the CNPD .

“We have had an awful lot of complaints about people who have cameras in their homes, in their cars, but they are facing the street or overlooked,” said Clara Guerra, holder voice of the CNPD, speaking to TeK. Besides being wrongly identified, zoom capabilities may even allow them to enter the house of others, highlights, illustrating the extent that this kind of situation can be achieved.
