Yahoo! is close to buying Tumblr - Info Online

After negotiations, Yahoo! will announce later this week the acquisition of Tumblr

São Paulo – novelette involving Yahoo! and Tumblr can end with a happy outcome for the company led by Marissa Mayer. According to the newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo! directors approved the purchase agreement, which will be set at $ 1.1 billion in cash.

Although executives of Tumblr claiming that considered the initial offer “low”, it is likely that the business is closed later this week, much in part to the fact that the amount offered will not be diluted in stocks or market shares.

According to sources, Yahoo! will hold a press conference tomorrow in New York City, which is the seat of Tumblr. Apparently, the company is expected to announce the deal on the microblogging network.

Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo!, is confessed admirer of Tumblr, which has 107 million microblog and has an average of 117 million users. Founded by David Karp, the company plans to close its revenue in 2013 at around 100 million dollars.

If the agreement goes ahead, this will be one of the biggest acquisitions of the Internet, surpassing the agreement made between Facebook and Instagram last year. On occasion, the company acquired Marck Zuckerberg’s social network photos by about 715 million dollars.
