Messages exchanged via Skype are not as private as you ... - The Ball

A security company did some tests with the use of Skype software and concluded that Microsoft has access to any conversation from the service.

To test the service’s privacy, was sent a message from one Skype user to another. In between, the experts were able to detect a connection from a Microsoft server accessed the message.

Skype uses a security system that encrypts messages when they are sent and decrypts them when they are received. What test revealed that Microsoft was able to read the links in the message sent through the encryption process.

The company officials say that, in fact, messages can be read, but In order to ascertain whether there is fraudulent stuff, like links to suspicious sites.
