Spotify extends free streaming to mobile phones and tablets - TeK.sapo

The CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, revealed during an event that the model of unlimited music streaming will also be available on smartphones and tablets. Spotify will renew mobile applications to include these new features.

In tablets, called the new desktops by the Swedish company, the streaming system will work as it has worked in the free model for PC. According to the CEO of Spotify, with the decline of computers and the rise of tablets no sense to differentiate the platforms in terms of content.

Thus users will have access to the entire catalog of music, no monthly limit of hours, you just have to live with some ads in between the songs.

Now in version mobile users can access the a range of songs from certain artist, but will have to learn to live with the random mode. Instead of following a particular order, the tracks jump from album to album. Positive is the fact that you can move the music is playing, in case not like her. But always through advertising.

Last year Spotify users were responsible for the consumption of more than 4.5 billion hours of music and has so far created 1.5 billion playlists. In total there are 24 million active users and 6 million subscribers of the Premium version.
