Prototype smartphone "do it yourself" Motorola is almost ... - TeK.sapo

Phonebloks and Motorola are working on Ara Project, a concept of modular smartphone which each component is easily replaceable. This means that the equipment is 100% repairable and can always be upgraded. What seems fiction is actually an advanced stage of development, being the prototype nearing completion.

The revelation was made in a video conference by CEO of Motorola, Dennis Woodside, writes Engadget. The CEO also said that when the equipment arrives at a marketing stage will be produced in a similar tool to Maker Moto Moto X, where the phone can be customized with several hundred combinations.

But beyond the outer customization, Ara Project will allow the level of customization specifications. Dennis Woodside explained the concept referring to a skeleton which various components can be placed and removed.

Modular smartphone from Motorola was originally submitted in late October, which shows that the company is committed to building the new device.

Before Motorola have unveiled Ara Project, Phonebloks already had success on the internet with your smartphone modular design.
