The environment minister said on Monday that there are about 3,000 plants which do not fully comply with environmental watering and will have to submit their regularization procedures to the authorities until January 2, 2016.

Jorge Moreira da Silva, who was speaking in Lisbon at the presentation of the Settlement System of Economic Activities, noted that with the publication of the orders were given the final steps that can be applied to this scheme.

The Minister of Environment, Planning Planning and Energy said it was not possible to regularize many companies-under previous regimes due to fragmentation and lack of connection between the various legal instruments, but said “this is the last opportunity” to do so.

The authorities then have a maximum of two years to assess whether companies have complied with all legal requirements under penalty of being closed.
