According to the information put forward by IDC, the disproportion this market segment over the personal computer appears to be accentuated more and more: the market of tablets increased 142% in sales volume in the first three months of 2013 which in units translates into approximately 50 million tablets sold. The most popular tablet still remains the iPad, that of the 49.2 million tablets sold represented approximately 19.2 million devices.
Prospects Apple, however, does not seem to be as positive as the results indicate : is that in terms of popularity, and although still the dominant tablet, the iPad has lost market share compared with the same period last year – in other words, increased from 58.2% to 39.6% . Still continues to be more than double the attendance of its rival Samsung, which nonetheless achieved positive results and saw its market share increase from 11.3% to 17.9%. The Google Nexus 7 from Asus is the third most popular tablet the ‘ranking’, followed by the Amazon Kindle Fire and Microsoft Surface.
