Around the 1:00 a.m., was made call to the GNR Quarteira to report on the beach, opposite the Sea Square, was a citizen in drowning, needing help.
Before the news immediately a patrol moved to the place, accompanied by another soldier who had left the service and went also to the aid of the victim.
After arriving on the scene and after assessing the situation, the military said, possessed of knowledge in the area of rescue the shipwrecked, was released immediately to the water lady relief, which was already worn and in great difficulty, lying about 40 meters away from the beach.
Despite the difficulties intrinsic to low light, the sea state and the proximity to the existing wall in that area, the rapid intervention coupled with the experience of the military allowed the same could rescue the victim and bring it safely to land, subsequently forwarded to the Centre Loulé Health where he required medical treatment was provided, lying at present in good health.
Note that parallel the action of the military, also a popular threw overboard in trying to help victim, and, despite the efforts, the sea state and the tiredness did not allow him to reach you.
It was possible to determine that the victim, foreign citizen resident in Quarteira and 40 years of age, reasons that are unknown will have fallen from the cliff into the sea, being in high danger to their physical integrity, which happily has safeguarded.
